Searchlight Update, March 2017

In case you have not heard, Kingston Mencap has secured the lease on the Searchlight Centre, off Kingston Road, next to Kingsmeadow. The building is being refurbished, with full wheelchair access and a Changing Places Toilet. We have created an additional, all purpose, room for meetings, therapy and sensory use. The lighting will be much improved and the flooring completely renewed throughout. New furniture will make it a comfortable experience for our visitors and we will also have our own office on site. We are expecting the works to be finished by the end of March. Our Clubs will then be moving in and we have already had a number of enquiries to book the facilities during the day. Searchlight will be available for hire, especially at the weekends. We will be having an official opening party, once we are properly installed, watch out for details. All very exciting!
